Full-time study
You can embark on full-time study in our two year Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Hospitality Management or our two year Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management – Commercial Cookery. Both the Advanced Diplomas and the Associate Degree in Hospitality Management lead through to the third and final year of a Bachelor of Business (Tourism and Hospitality), conferred by La Trobe University – see our Study Pathway diagram.
Full-time study can still allow for part-time employment opportunities in the industry if time management and diligence is applied. Additionally, for every hour in the classroom it is recommended that a further hour is undertaken in self-directed study. This helps ensure successful achievement of the course objectives.
Options for high school students
You can prepare yourself for an eduction in hospitality whilst you are still at high school (in Australia) by studying part-time for a Certificate II. The program runs either as an intensive program in school holidays or on a weekly basis throughout the two senior years of high school (depending on enrolments).
‘Day in the Life’ workshops
We also offer high school students the opportunity to test the career waters in a one-day workshop to find out what a day in the life of a Hospitality Manager is like. Check here for our 2007 program.
