Industry Partners
William Blue has provided the hospitality and tourism industry with quality graduates for fifteen years. We have an excellent reputation within the industry and importantly, this translates directly into unique opportunities for our students.
Some of our industry partners offer scholarships to outstanding students. Not only does this allow them to gain invaluable experience in the workplace, it also assists with tuition fees. Details regarding scholarships are provided throughout the year.
Industry Visits
Various industry partners visit the school during the year to inform students of their employment options and answer their questions. It is an excellent way for students to meet directly with hiring managers and discussing possible career opportunities.
Lecturers from Industry
At William Blue, we pride ourselves on teaching students course content that is relevant to the current workplace. All our lecturers bring an impressive level of industry experience with them and many come directly from the industry to share up-to-the-minute information with students.
Starlight Foundation
For over ten years, William Blue has provided student volunteers to the Starlight Foundation’s high profile charity event, ‘Five Chefs’, for which five illustrious chefs from fine dining restaurants volunteer their time. In 2007, the five participating chefs were: Peter Gilmore (Quay), Justin North (Becasse), Darren Simpson (La Sala), Mark Best (Marque Restaurant) and Jochen-Hess (Four Seasons Hotel). Twenty-seven students from our school served 700 guests at the Four Seasons Hotel and one William Blue student assisted in the kitchen with the chefs themselves. The 2007 event raised over $690,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Australian Association of Hotel Schools (AAHS)
Every year, AAHS hosts a Career Fair in Sydney that attracts representatives from hospitality groups around the world. The purpose of the event is for employers and students to come together and discuss job opportunities, career paths and traineeships. As William Blue is a member of the association, students are invited to attend this exciting event every year.
