Stephan Ganz - Student of the Year 2003/2004
Switzerland
I began my 11-week study in Billy Blue College of English on November 11, 2002. The English preparation here enabled me to cope with my studies in William Blue College of Hospitality and Tourism so well that I graduated in 2004 as Student of the Year 2003/2004. After I went back to Switzerland in 2005, I worked in the media industry producing documentaries. As part of my job, I had the chance to be exposed to some five-star hotels such as the Ritz Carlton, which I had already learned lot about during my study at William Blue. So the knowledge I gained from Billy Blue as a whole greatly helped me in my future career.
Stephan re-visited Billy Blue School of English on January 4, 2007.

At the moment I am doing my Masters Degree in Risk Management at Monash University.

Oliver Fernandez

My name Is Olivier Fernandez and I studied at Billy Blue from September 7th 2001 to February 2003. First I went to the College of English to improve my English, then I moved to William Blue College of Hospitality and Tourism where I learnt lots of skills. I completed my industry placement at the Four Seasons Hotel and then passed my International Diploma!
Today I’m a Room Service Assistant Manager in a five star hotel in Paris called “Hotel de Crillon” which is the main competitor of the “Ritz” Hotel.
My best memories? It’s hard to say because every day was unforgettable. I met lots of students from other countries – it is a small and very friendly school where everybody was helpful and very supportive. This is why I want to thank all the Billy Blue team for everything; I’ll never forget this “Aussie” experience thanks to you!

Phongpat Chookruvong (“Boon”)
Thailand
My name is Phongpat Chookruvong. I am studying the Design Fundamentals course at Billy Blue. In this course I study graphic design and also English.
Billy Blue is well-known and has a good reputation in Australia. Everybody here is very friendly and helpful. All facilities such as Internet rooms are marvelous and Billy Blue is located in the centre of North Sydney which is very convenient because there are lots of buses and it’s near North Sydney train station. Also, the areas around Billy Blue are very safe so it is fine to stay and study in these areas. So for these reasons, I suggest that Billy Blue is the best choice for people who want to study in Australia and Sydney.
At RMIT I studied Photography and got an Advanced Diploma in 2006.
Pawel Bochenek
Poland
I came to Billy Blue College of English in May 2002, starting from the lowest level (I had never studied English before). I can remember my first days at school – I could understand nothing except one thing – that there were smiles on everyone’s faces. That was very important to me and helped me to overcome many problems.
After four months of studying at Billy Blue I passed the English test to JMC Academy and after the next 4 semesters at JMC Academy, I got an offer from the University of Sydney to do Audio Design.
Now I know I made a great decision studying at Billy Blue. My dream came true in Australia – I got my degree in Audio Design at University of Sydney but it started at Billy Blue!
Alexandre Francisco

The Graphic Arts Bridging Program was such a great experience for me. The teachers made sure we studied material that we could really use at the Graphic Arts school and adapted the lessons to make us look at the Australian way of art. We practiced presentations that helped me feel more confident speaking in English. We also warmed up our artistic skills by learning how to interpret an English design brief.
We did some serious study at Billy Blue College of English but the atmosphere is really relaxed. Students are encouraged to participate in school life by teachers and staff. My favorite social activity was Pub Day – it was a really great way to meet new friends.
Alexandre was an award winning student at Billy Blue College of Design and was selected to work at Billy Blue Creative Design Studio (a rare invitation!).
Supamas Tondyukal (“B”)

I used to study at Billy Blue College of English and now I’m studying at Billy Blue College of Design. Studying in the Bridging Program helped me know more vocabulary about graphic art and do activities related to arts as well. I have a lot of fun studying here at Billy Blue College.
