Bachelor of applied design in Communication Design

Provider Code: 00246M
CRICOS Course Code
Duration: 2 years (Intensive) or 3 years (full time)

Description:

Communication Design is the ‘visual bridge’ between commercial activity and a defined community. This communication generally uses image and text in 2 or three dimensions usually in printed form. It is not limited to these parameters, but generally exists within them.

The study of Communication Design explores the relationship between these 3 areas: commercial activity, the defined community and the ‘visual bridge’. The emphasis is on developing the skills needed to create a valid and functional ‘visual bridge’

Associate Degree in Communication Design

Provider Code: 00246M
CRICOS Course Code: 055858F
Duration: 2 years

The Associate Degree in Communication Design is available for international students, focuses on the traditional areas of visual communication. However, it does so from a different perspective. The main difference between this course and the Advanced Diploma is that you'll be approaching your studies in a broader, more analytical way.

In the first year, you'll be studying such things as design culture and theory, typography, systems of communication and studio practise. In the second year, you'll be studying areas such as advanced design research, communication design, new media and design usability.
