Adobe Illustrator is the industry-standard application for creating vector-based art.   Vector art is resolution-independent so remains sharp at any size and is ideal for creating logos, maps, diagreams and graphs as well as illustrations.  Elements are easily edited and file sizes are very small comparet with raster- (pixel-) based files such as those created by Photoshop.

Course Outcomes

At the end of this course you will be able to: 

• create and save your Illustrator documents in a variety of ways
• create simplex to complex logos
• know how to draw precise or freehand artwork
• create complex shapes
• understand to a competent level the application of colour
• comfortably use the Type variants
• import and use pixel-based images correctly
• convert type to manipulate for logos etc.
• import and export Swatches correctly
• create and edit Gradients, Patterns and Brushes
• use the Appearance Palette

If you're looking to begin designing electronic illustrations for a website or for a visual or multimedia presentation, this course will give you the start required.  it is ideal for designers who currently use traditional media for illustrations and who wish to explore computer-based options
You need basic PC/Mac and internet skills.
